UWF Day of Giving Sparks Campus Support with Unique Gift Rewards

The University of West Florida (UWF) is once again hosting its Day of Giving, a remarkable 24-hour fundraising event that brings the campus community together in support of student success and university initiatives. This year, the seventh annual event takes place on April 17, 2025, and it promises to be just as engaging as previous years. The initiative allows alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends to contribute towards making a positive impact on the university.

One of the unique features of the UWF Day of Giving is the variety of gift rewards donors can receive. Donors who contribute $20 or more earn a UWF Day of Giving bandana, while those who give $30 or more receive a pair of exclusive UWF socks. For contributions of $50 or more, donors will receive a special UWF hat. Notably, donors who contribute $100 or more can receive all three items, each with a limited-edition print for 2025. These rewards serve as a tangible symbol of appreciation for the contributions made during the event.

The event is part of UWF’s broader "Here for Good" campaign, which aims to surpass a fundraising goal of $90 million. For this year's Day of Giving, the university has set a specific goal of raising $175,000 and receiving 1,200 individual gifts. The funds raised will support various programs and departments across the university, including but not limited to Argo Athletics, scholarships, and student resources.

A special highlight of the event is the Day of Giving Happy Hour, sponsored by the UWF Alumni Association. Held at O'Riley's Irish Pub in downtown Pensacola, this gathering allows attendees to celebrate the university's successes while enjoying appetizers, swag, and a free drink for those over 21. Registration is encouraged to ensure an accurate headcount, and no donation is required to attend. However, attendees who have made a Day of Giving donation can collect their rewards at the event instead of waiting for them to be mailed.

The UWF Day of Giving also coincides with UWF Founders Week, a weeklong celebration honoring the university's founding. This alignment underscores the event's significance in fostering a culture of giving and community engagement. Social media plays a crucial role, with the hashtag #UWFDayOfGiving encouraging supporters to spread awareness and invite others to participate.
